Summerfield Drive was shut down between Spring Knoll and Tumani, Herndon police said on Twitter around 2 p.m.
No injuries were immediately reported in the Winterhaven Place blaze, which apparently also involved a vehicle, DC Real Time News reports.
Authorities are asking residents to avoid the area.
